Found a really awesome Rock Crawler chassis for $7,000 and found a 5.3 out of a 2004 Silverado with 27,000 miles on it for $3,000 (with wiring harness and computer). I want to beef up the 5.3 with a cam swap out of an LS6 (I've heard up to 65hp) and a turbo charger. For the cam swap I know I'm going to have to get the computer tuned but what about changing the lifters, push rods, etc.? Will I have to change those as well or just do the tune? I've heard that I don't have to do anything but drop the cam in...Also, what's the biggest suggested boost that I run with this engine? I'm trying to get up to 500 h/p without going over $15,000 on the project. I've got $10,000 invested with the chassis and engine so that only leaves me $5,000 to get the cam, turbo, and have it tuned...
